Self esteem improvement in any organization is a solid low cost investment in any business. This is an unusual approach for sure, but performance levels of those with high self esteem have been shown to be greater than those with low self esteem. When you really think about, there are so many benefits that can be realized if your work force is more positive and has a healthy outlook. The self esteem of your work force can be increased if you follow these three proven and effective strategies.

You can begin to build self esteem by implementing policies that recognize that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. Train your managers to get to know the strengths of the employees directly under them. Once this is done, then the lower level management levels can assign work that utilizes each person's own area of strength. Be sure to give employees the opportunity to improve on their areas of weakness, as well. Doing this will allow workers to have a real sense of accomplishment while knowing they are improving in other areas.

No person in any business environment should ever be openly criticized or reprimanded. The person on the receiving end of this unprofessional treatment is caused extreme embarrassment and humiliation. The results and repercussions of this kind of incident are never good for anyone involved or for your business.

When people receive this kind of treatment, they become resentful and negative towards the work place and the person who inflicted the action. The better alternative is to handle such matters behind closed doors and in total privacy. Then, the matter should be treated as professionally as possible.

To make an impact on people in a positive way you will need to improve your listening skills and learn to be an active listener. By truly listening to what someone is saying and being active in the conversation shows them that you really care. We all know that it's important to feel that what we think, feel, and say matters. The impact on your work force would be great if you utilize this approach. This is vital training for anyone in a management position.

There is much that you can do as the head of your business to improve self esteem in your organization. This isn't an overnight project and will take time, but it is a worthy investment to make in your business. As you work to improve self esteem in your business, you will increase your bottom line, improve your employee retention rate, and actually realize a positive ROI. Get a good start by planning the steps out carefully and implementing an organized strategy.
