Nobody likes having love handles. You can try to make them sound cutesy by calling them "muffin tops," but it's still no fun to have them. If you are tired of living with these "handles," you have the ability to lose them. There are a variety of methods that can enable you to reduce or eliminate these love handles.

Think how much easier it will be to buy and fit into your clothes once you've lost those love handles! If you are committed to losing your love handles, pay attention to the tips that follow and start applying them.

You may want to get rid of your love handles, but don't make this your only goal. If you take care of your entire body, the love handles will start to go away. This means working on all of your muscles and bodily systems.

You can't really isolate one area of your body and forget the rest. For example, if you only work your midsection, all you'll do is create more muscle there, and this could actually make your love handles stand out more. If, on the other hand, you work on the various parts of your body evenly, you will not only lose your love handles, but you'll be healthier overall. It is a win-win! Try practicing proper posture. It takes energy to sit up and stand up straight all day. Calories are burned as you expend this energy. If you aren't used to sitting up straight, proper posture can be an exercise in the beginning. In addition to helping you burn calories, practicing proper posture can help reduce the appearance of the love handles that you are carrying around. It is even more so when you are walking around. Also, you look better when you have proper posture. Your love handles actually look bigger when you slouch.

You can do a lot more in general if the muscles in your back are strong. This will help reduce stores of back fat, which can lead to the muffin top appearance (as opposed to a beer belly or love handles). There are other benefits to a strong back, such as better posture and an increased ability to lift weights or do other strenuous exercises. Of course you need to work on the rest of your body as well, not just your back!

There's no reason you should have to put up with love handles permanently. With consistent effort, you can lose weight in the areas where you need to. You have to be willing to watch your diet and get regular exercise if you really want that weight to come off. After a while, you'll be able to fit comfortably into your clothes!
