If you're hoping to avoid getting kidney stones, it helps to know what makes them happen in the first place. If you have already dealt with these problems before you know just how painful they are and you'll want to do everything you can to prevent them from coming back. We will look at some of the things that cause kidney stones in this condition but remember these are just a few of the condition--they can be caused by lots of different things. In many cases, you can reduce your chances of getting them altogether by living a lifestyle that is very healthy both in terms of exercise and diet.

For example, if you live in a more humid environment that is hotter, than your chances are increased. However, living in either type of climate will not guarantee anything one way or the other.

However, when it's frequently hot, you're more prone to dehydration, which is one of the main causes of kidney stones. If you are in a hotter environment, then be sure to regularly consume water. Obesity is a risk factor for developing kidney stones as well as having the condition in your family. Anyone who is prone to calcium stones should watch their intake of foods containing oxalates, which can cause or worsen kidney stones of this type. Normally, many of the foods that contain oxalates, which include a variety of nuts, berries and greens, would be considered healthy, but in this case you have to watch out for them. Other places where you find oxalates are chocolate, herring, liver and other organ meats. Depending on the type of kidney stones you have, it may be advisable to reduce your intake of these foods for now. Reducing or avoiding oxalates is something you may want to do, especially if you've had recurring problems with kidney stones and are looking for a way to stop them from returning. You should do further research for a complete list of foods in this category.

Kidney stones is only one of the health problems that has been connected to stress, so this is something you should pay attention to. Stress may or may not be the only thing that has caused your kidney stones, but by reducing it you can be healed more easily. In general, by reducing stress in your life you can improve your immune system and your susceptibility for many health problems. Of course, if you already have kidney stones, this in itself can create stress, which can in turn make it more difficult to get rid of them. If you can find ways to manage stress, you'll find that you can more easily cope with health challenges such as kidney stones.

Kidney stones conditions will not be universally known to a doctor, so that can add to the overall frustration factor. The bottom line is that sometimes people have this condition even when they are doing all the right things. Just always be sure you do not waste any time with getting medical attention if you think you have the symptoms.
