These days, when people are seeking superb caterers in Middlesex, catering in West London and so on, they have plenty of options to choose from. Whether they are after food for corporate events, weddings or anything else, they can take their pick from a range of cuisines.

However, when individuals are in hospital, their choices are not so varied and impressive. Indeed, there are many complaints about the standard of food served up in medical centres around the country.

In a bid to address this, a number of hospitals are to utilise the services of celebrity chef James Martin. Recently, the proud Yorkshire man and presenter of BBC television show Saturday Kitchen helped to reinvigorate the catering staff and menus at Scarborough General Hospital.

His experiences inspired him to assist a number of other NHS trusts, he has revealed. Now he is to work with six others over the course of this year.

In total, he spent 12 weeks collaborating with catering staff from Scarborough General and his efforts were shown in a BBC documentary.

Speaking during a recent Clarence House reception hosted by the Prince of Wales to highlight hospitals which are supporting a Soil Association campaign, he said: "It's going back to the old roots of food as medicine. It's so important in terms of nutrition and vitamins.

"One of the members of my family is in hospital and it's important she likes the food. If the soup is like dishwater she's not going to get any better."

He added: "Some of the staff had been there 27 years, we needed to make them fall in love with food again and get away from packets and frozen omelettes so I took them to a farm. It's easy to throw mud at the NHS but 98 per cent of my work was trying to win people over and two per cent was changing the food."

Meanwhile, anyone seeking excellent caterers in Middlesex, catering in West London and so on can source top-quality providers over the web in no time.
