Many people think they need more equipment than they really do when they first start golfing. There are a lot of fancy gadgets that look fun to try but you won't need those until you've learned the game more. Until then, you really can't benefit from some of the more advanced pieces of golf equipment anyway. Keep these important tools for beginning golfers in mind though as you pick out your perfect starter kit for the great game of golf.

A good pair of gloves are an essential part of a good start up investment in golfing. Golf gloves come in packs of one are designated for left or right handed golfers. While you can find them in pairs, it isn't necessary to purchase two gloves unless that is your preference. You may be wondering why gloves are so important for golfing. The main reason is that they protect your hands from potentially painful blisters that are common when gripping the club. Poorly fitted gloves can interfere with game play, especially if they cut off circulation so be sure you get ones that fit well.

Having ball markers is also important.

This is especially important if you play with a group. You will use these markers to mark where your ball stopped on the green without interfering with the play of the others in your group. Golf etiquette states that the person whose ball is furthest from the hole plays first. So without a ball marker to mark your ball's spot, it could interfere with the play of the other balls on the green. When playing with a group, it is incredibly important to have ball markers and they're not expensive.

Golf club head covers are also important to buy. When you take the time to assemble a good set of golf clubs, they are an investment. It can easily cost a few hundred dollars for even a beginners set of clubs. To lengthen the life and usefulness of your clubs, you need to protect them by getting quality head covers that will protect them from banging together in your car or during the drive to and from the golf course.

There are all kinds of covers available from the utilitarian to the whimsical so have fun with this purchase and let it say something about your own personal style. Beginners will find many pieces of golf equipment that they consider buying. This is one sport where there are all kinds of bright, shiny, and distracting gadgets and gizmos to choose from. It is more beneficial, however, to only buy the equipment necessary for a beginner and wait to build your inventory as your game improves. Starting with these basics will have you ready for the nest level in no time.
